Each student will have the opportunity to learn music history, theory, composition, and performance through a customized curriculum. Academic Activities
Daily Dose of Music Activities:
When you first step into the school entrance in the early morning (around 7:45 am), you will hear a variety of music performances at the Music Corner, where our students showcase their musical gifts to teachers and students.

The newly formed music band, FAC, is performing at the Music Corner.
After entering the campus entrance, you will see Hall 2 on your right-hand side, which is a classroom equipped with excellent sound and a computer system. Throughout the academic year, music lessons and various music activities, such as the Orchestra and Handbell & Handchimes team, utilize Hall 2.
When you go to the second floor, on the left-hand side, you will see Hall 1. In Hall 1, we have a newly installed Organ, and students can take Organ lessons and play the organ for the assembly, as well as participate in various community performance opportunities. Furthermore, students have different opportunities to perform on the Organ and other instruments in the community, which teachers and coaches will arrange.
During the week, different ensembles are doing various kinds of training to prepare for performances and competitions. Still, we have many enjoyable times learning and growing together.
Outstanding Achievements
The Choir has been established for many years and has won different prizes in competitions. For instance, in the 2024-25 school year, it participated in the Secondary School Junior Division at the Hong Kong Inter-School Choral Festival competition cum masterclass and joint school music competition, where both won the Silver Award. In the coming years, they will be participating in more community performances and events. Stay tuned!

There are some bonding times for the choir family. For instance, the Choir organized a party to say farewell to our Form 6 members. Everyone signs their names on the cards to thank them for their hard work in the previous years. Furthermore, the Choir also sang the song “May the road rise to meet you” in the speech day blessing all Form 6 students a bright future.

Apart from Choir, we have a course in A Cappella, which is run by Mr. Andrew Wong (Alumnus of CSS). Mr. Wong provides excellent A Cappella training for our students. Through an innovative and tailor-made curriculum, students enjoy learning from him a lot.

In addition to Choir and A Cappella, the fantastic Handbell Team and Handchimes Team have won multiple awards annually and delivered numerous successful performances under the guidance of Dr. Ko and Ms. Tong.

Apart from all ensembles, Dr. So leads the orchestra in participating in various competitions and performances, enriching students’ non-academic lives and boosting their confidence through different music activities and training.

With the excellent collaboration between different ensembles, the music department is looking forward to a fantastic 2025-26 academic year.
