Carmel Volleyball Team

Carmel Secondary School Volleyball Team is the school’s longest-standing sports team, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2025. Our boys’ and girls’ teams are both among the 12 teams in the Hong Kong and Kowloon Division One. Throughout our history, we have won numerous accolades: a total of 116 top-four finishes in various divisions, 39 championship titles, 15 overall championships, and 7 championships in Division One.

Our volleyball team is not just focused on skill training; we are also committed to our students’ holistic development. In addition to regular competitions, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities, such as: hosting the Primary School Volleyball Invitational Tournament, playing in the Alumni Cup, attending team training camps, and joining cross-strait and overseas exchange tours. We also encourage our players to explore more possibilities in the field of volleyball and provide support for them to participate in projects such as beach volleyball, Hong Kong team training, and volleyball referee courses. Through these rich experiences, our players can continue to grow in areas such as attitude, communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and resilience.

The unique aspect of the Carmel Volleyball Team is its strong spirit of “gratitude and legacy.” Every year, about 10 of our coaches are Carmel alumni who return with a sense of mission and tradition. To recognize and encourage the hard work of our students, the alumni have established the Carmel Volleyball Team Alumni Fund, which awards scholarships annually to students for their outstanding performance in service, academics, and leadership.

We believe that parental support is a crucial part of a player’s growth. To this end, we have established the Volleyball Team Parents’ Support Group. In its first year, more than 50 parents joined, accompanying their children on their journey. They not only attend training sessions and friendly matches with their children but also cheer for the team during competitions, becoming a part of the team. The Support Group also helps with homework tutoring after training and maintains close communication with the coaches to collectively support the students’ comprehensive development.

迦密中學排球隊是學校歷史最悠久的球隊，2025年即將慶祝50週年。我們的男女子排球隊均為港九學界第一組別12支球隊之一。在過往歷史中屢獲殊榮：各組別共116次進入學界四強，獲得39次冠軍，獲得總冠軍15次，並拿下7次第一組別總冠軍。

我們的排球隊不僅僅專注於球技訓練，更致力於培養學生的全人發展。除了參與正規比賽，同學們也有機會參加多元化的活動，如：舉辦小學排球邀請賽、校友杯、團隊訓練營、以及參加兩岸三地及海外交流團。我們也鼓勵隊員們探索排球領域的更多可能性，並提供支援讓他們參與沙灘排球、香港代表隊訓練、排球裁判課程等項目。透過這些豐富的經驗，我們的隊員能在態度、溝通、團隊意識、解難及抗壓能力等層面持續成長。

迦密排球隊的獨特之處在於濃厚的飲水思源、薪火相傳的精神。每年約10位教練皆是迦密畢業生，帶住使命與傳承回到排球隊。為了肯定和鼓勵學生的努力，校友們設立了迦密排球隊校友基金，於每年頒發獎學金給同學於服務，學業及領袖才能方面的卓越表現。

我們相信家長的支持是球員成長的重要一環。因此，成立了排球隊家長後援會，首年就有超過50位家長加入，與子女同行。他們不僅可以陪伴子女參與操練與友誼賽，更在賽事中為球員們加油打氣，成為球隊的一份子。後援會也協助支援隊員的課後功課輔導，並與教練保持密切溝通，共同關注和支持同學的全面成長。
