Rev. David Cheung Chi-kong, the founding principal of Carmel Secondary School rested in peace in the Lord in St. Louis, US at Hong Kong time 4:45 am 17 September 2013 (US time 3:45 pm 16 September). He was aged 77.
Rev. Cheung joined the Evangelical School Development Incorporation Ltd. (ESDI) in 1963 to establish schools based on Christian values. He served as the principal of Carmel Secondary School from 1964 for 26 years.
Rev. Cheung had devoted himself to the promotion of Christian education and laid a solid foundation for the work of ESDI. He was a faithful servant who God had entrusted with important missions. Through him, God had blessed all Carmelians.
Rev. Cheung had also actively served the Hong Kong society. He had been a board member of the Legislative Council, Education Commission, Hong Kong Examinations Authority, and the chairman of the Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council. His life was one that had glorified God and prospered people.
