Four Great Classical Novels x 4Rs (Rest, Relaxation, Relationship & Resilience)
In a unique collaboration, teachers from the Counseling and Guidance Team joined librarians for the “Four Great Classical Novels x 4Rs” Reading Cafe. Participants enthusiastically delved into these literary masterpieces, exploring both original texts and manga adaptations. The discussions centered on how the timeless wisdom within these novels can foster resilience. A themed board game session added an engaging and enjoyable dimension, further strengthening connections among attendees.
Reading Cafe @ Carmel
Dedicated to fostering a strong reading culture on campus, the Library proudly hosted “Reading Cafe @ Carmel.” This event featured inspiring sharing sessions by our Principal, the NET teacher, and teachers from the Chinese History and Chinese departments, who enthusiastically presented their favorite books. Students gained valuable insights and broadened their reading horizons through these personal recommendations.
Student STEAM Exhibition at Hong Kong Central Library
We proudly celebrated our students’ dedication and ingenuity in STEAM through an exhibition that showcased their remarkable projects. This event was held at the CreateInfo Zone (6/F) of the Hong Kong Central Library from July 9 to August 31, 2025.
During the Mid-Autumn Festival, the library hosted a special riddle-solving activity!
The principal joined students and teachers in enjoying the fun of riddles while exploring books about Chinese festivals, deepening their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
Congratulations to S5 Toby Yee for standing out among over 1,800 entries and winning the Outstanding Award in the Senior Secondary (English Category) of the “4·23 World Book Day Creative Competition 2025” organized by the LCSD and Hong Kong Public Libraries!
Winning entries will be showcased at roving exhibitions in designated libraries across Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangdong starting late April.

The Taiwan Reading & Creative Culture Experiential Tour, organized by our school library, has successfully concluded! Teachers and students explored unique libraries, Taipei New Horizon, specialty bookstores, and comic museums. They also experienced the vibrant Taipei Lantern Festival and savored delicious local Taiwanese cuisine.
This incredible journey provided students with a valuable opportunity to broaden their horizons, deepen their appreciation for Taiwan’s reading and creative culture, and immerse themselves in its unique traditions. What an unforgettable experience!
Our librarians became bookworms on a mission to find the perfect books for our students!
The goal of this book-hunting adventure is to inspire a love of reading and make our library the most beloved learning space.
In September 2024, our first Story-Sharing Corner was buzzing with energy as enthusiastic S1 and S2 Carmelians shared their stories with English Ambassadors and librarians during lunchtime.
Our motivated readers and passionate storytellers made this event a great success!
Story Sharing Corner
The teacher librarian and school librarians of Shatin Methodist College visited our school library and shared how they carry out library operations more effectively and organise theme-based reading activities which help promote the reading culture of their school.
The teacher librarian and librarians of our school also shared how they help broaden students’ reading scope and support curriculum and facilitate cross-curricular reading.
The librarians of both schools found the exchange fruitful and inspiring!
