Instructions for School Uniform under Very Cold Weather

If the Hong Kong Observatory releases a weather forecast stating that the lowest temperature of the next day is 12°C or below, students could wear the following clothing:

1. Girls could wear grey trousers or grey stockings. The colour and the style of the stockings should be appropriate for being part of the school uniform.

2. All students could wear plain colour down coats or cotton-padded jackets.

(a) In principle: Students should wear plain colour down coats or cotton-padded jackets.  There is not any constraint on the colours but dark colours are preferred.  As the theme colours of the winter uniform of the school are black and dark grey, it is preferred that the down coats and the cotton-padded jackets should also be in dark colours. This is to actualize the spirit of wearing the school uniform.

(b) In practice: If students have already got a plain dark colour down coat or a cotton-padded jacket, they should wear it. If students do not have a dark one, they can wear a down coat or a jacket that they have already got.  However, if they need to buy a new one, they should buy a plain dark one, taking into consideration that they can wear it back to school under very cold weather. The preferred colours are black, dark grey, dark brown and dark blue.

嚴寒天氣下上學的服飾指引

就天文台預測翌日天氣最低溫度為12度或以下，學生上學服飾如下：

一、 女生可以穿著灰色長絨褲；或灰色及腰長襪褲，襪褲以上學款式為準。

二、全體學生可以穿著淨色羽絨外套或棉襖。

(1) 原則是：淨色的羽絨外套或棉襖，不限顔色，但以深色為佳。由於學校的冬季校服是以黑色與灰色為主，所以穿羽絨外套或棉襖時應以深色為佳，以此體現校服的整體精神。

(2) 實際操作時：如果本身已經有深色羽絨外套或棉襖的，就應該穿著。沒有的話，可以穿家中已有的羽絨外套或棉襖。但日後如果同學需要購買新的羽絨外套或棉襖時，應考慮在嚴寒天氣下會有機會穿著來上學，故購買時宜選擇深色的顏色，例如：黑、灰、啡、藍。
