Sports are Good to All, But Not This Way

Obviously, it has become a trend to do sports.  Everyone knows that it is beneficial.  Now the Sports Club wants everyone to join a sport team at school.  I wonder what they had in mind when they proposed this.  To me, this is nonsense.

We all have busy school lives, rushing through tons of homework, and being busy studying.   We even may not have the time to take a nap in the afternoon.  How are we supposed to join a sports team?  Sports teams demand lots of time for practice.  Having such a packed schedule, I don’t think that students would have the time for training.  As students, we should focus more on academic studies rather than sports.  Requiring all students to join sports teams would devour a lot of their time, and may even affect their academic results.

Every student has their own talent.  Not all of them have a flair for sports.  Forcing them to join a sports team may bring them pressure but not pleasure.  If a student is physically weak, there is no point for him to join a sports team as he doesn’t like it, and he isn’t good at it.  A sports team is for students good at sports or students who love sports, not any students.  It would do no good to the teams, neither would it to the students.

Also, I don’t think the sports teams have the resources to accommodate all students in school. Equipment, time, money, and rooms are definitely insufficient for every single student to engage in sports at school.  This proposal is totally impractical.

Sports are supposed to help people relax and lead them to healthier lives.  What the Sports Club has proposed cannot attain these goals.  The requirement would only make students have harder school lives as they would lose the freedom to choose.  To students who are weak in sports, this is disastrous.  I think the Sports Club should not be this inconsiderate.  I understand that it wants us to live healthier lives but this is not the way.  Instead, more promotion of sports can arouse students’ interest and motivate them to do sports voluntarily, so that they benefit and have a healthier lifestyle.

The Sports Club should definitely consider another way to promote sports.  Otherwise, it would only become unpopular with students.
