Walking in the rain

”Rain is interesting!” I thought when I was walking to school with my umbrella and it was raining.

The rain was no ordinary one. It was the heaviest one I had ever seen .The sky was murky with grey clouds and it was pouring with rain. The rain was descending at a pace that it was lines and lines of silver filament. It was as if there was a vast piece of silver textile falling and shimmering in front of me.

The street lamps were on due to the dusky sky. Under the warm mild light, light rays were coming out layers by layers. From the middle bright yellow bulb to the outermost faint orange layer, the light diminished across layers and looked like a mini bomb exploding in the sky. In the light, the rain was coming down in another disposition. It was no longer falling straight down but followed the delicate light patterns and dispersed in layers and layers of circles. It was dancing in the rain like a group of ballerinas. The light from the lamps passed through the transparent waterdrops and added colour to them. The raindrops looked like tiny bulbs and they merged into the lamp light. How Interesting!

The rain was beating my umbrella, making endless ‘tit tit tat tat’ sound. It sounded like bombs exploding and missiles striking tanks. There was a crazy war going on right above my head and it sounded it would last forever. My feet, stepped heavily onto puddles, making small splashes and ripples. The small-scale ponds were wiggling with joy as if they were alive. Together with the big splashes caused by vehicles running over water accumulated on the road. They all made beautiful beats and cooperated together to form a piece of marvellous masterpiece. They were all music to my ears. How intriguing!

However, nothing is perfect. The rain stroked onto my arm and it was like needles poking into my skin. Although in no way I could see it, I could definitely feel it. It was like hundreds of ants biting my skin. Besides, I was still wet from head to toe though I was carrying my big umbrella as it was raining cats and dogs. The water soaked my clothes and soaks and it gave me a weird sensation that I was swimming on land! I was like an odd scuba-diver battling to march to school. The ache and soaking attires caused by the rain made me feel unsung but I still liked the rain as it always has its interesting side.

Rain is interesting! Do you agree?
