Unspoken Love

Why aren’t you just brave enough to say “that” to her?’ A MSN message captured Ken’s sight.
‘Well, Sam, it’s difficult to tell her something like “that”…’ Ken replied.
‘And that’s why Zoe still doesn’t know that you love her! You’re the brightest in the academic field, but also the stupidest in terms of romantic relationship. Ha!’
Everyone in Ken’s peer group knew that Ken had fallen in love with his classmate, Zoe, whom he met in the university. Ironically, at the same time, when Ken met Zoe after class, he was just too shy and timid to speak something meaningful to her; of course, you can guess, Ken would just murmur something that no one could understand, and then he would just fill up the dead air by saying some nonsense like, ‘Look, today’s weather’s fine!’ After such a melodrama, the originally ‘romantic’ atmosphere would finally be spoiled and ruined as if a clown had made a slip in the circus. For the heartbroken clown, however, he would weep in the dormitory all day long as he thought if Zoe really loved him.
In a cloudy afternoon, after the distribution of the exam papers, Ken tried to get out with Zoe for a drink. However, when the words got across his lips, they suddenly vapourize in his mouth cavity. He faltered.
Zoe asked impatiently, ‘What did you want to say to me?’
‘Well, just … about the … the … exam. Yes, the exam. How’s it?’
To his dismay, Ken was scolded by Zoe.
Are you laughing at me?’ Zoe suddenly stared at Ken furiously with suspicion, ‘I know that I performed terribly, and, there’s no match between your results with mine. Is that OK?’
‘I mean … “Oh, poor Ken.
‘You mean what? I’m more inferior to you, or you just find some poor ones to tease? I’m going to leave now.’
‘Well, don’t be upset about the minor stuff… you still have other courses to catch up your GPA…’
‘Thank you for your encouragement, Ken, but I really need to go now.’ She didn’t even make a turn to glance at Ken.
The cruel speech acted razors tearing Ken’s heart into pieces and driving him into despair and frustration. His heart was a rock thrown out of the cliff and split into billions of pieces!
Sometimes, losing lovers can drive people into crazy ones. And there seems to be a hidden rule: the more normal a person looks at usual times, the more abnormal he can be when faces refusal from his dream lover.
For Ken, he went to an underground bar and drank cocktail for the first time in his life. All of a sudden, the originally nice and obedient boy turned into the worst alcoholic. He couldn’t help but to drink more, so that his heart could become too wild to recall Zoe’s ‘cruel words in his mind.
Unfortunately, alcohol didn’t calm Ken down; rather, his desire to Zoe grew even stronger, and wanted every part of her – her mind, her body, her entire soul … He shouted. He insulted. He cursed. In the bar, his good temper seemed to be swallowed by the emptiness and helplessness of his soul.
‘I want Zoe so much … Do you know that I really love her … ‘ he cried, screamed and roared so mindlessly that other customers considered him a psychiatric patient.
Suddenly, a woman appeared at Ken’s sight, and slapped his face so hard that a clear and sudden ‘pop’ sound froze the whole atmosphere.
‘Have you drunk too much? It seems that you’ve become mad!’
Ken looked up at her, speaking in an unclear way, ‘Zoe, do you know that I’ve already fallen in love with YOU for two years! TWO years! Every time, when I see your angelic smile, your piano skills, you…’
To everyone’s surprise, Zoe put her two fingers on his lips. ‘Ken, why did you speak to me so late?
‘I LOVE you too!’ Then, Zoe hugged Ken so tightly like a mother comforting her poor child. What a touching scene it is!
Feelings of love are usually very difficult to express, but if you don’t let the other half know what you think how can you develop your relationship with your dream lover?
