Walking in the rain

It was a pleasant day on a Sunday afternoon. After visiting an exhibition, I went to the promenade outside the exhibition centre. Suddenly, the sky became pale and cloudy. After a few minutes, it changed to a heavy downpour.

The rain poured so hard that I could not hold my umbrella. So I headed to a pavilion and took a seat inside. My sight was attracted by the scene outside. Many people rushed to the exhibition centre building and they appeared like a crowd of ants hurrying back to their colony. Suddenly, violet thunder slashed across the sky and attacked the people and shouted loudly with his powerful voice. People were threatened by the thunder and were like drowned rats. They were all wet and looked embarrassed. When the downpour became heavier and heavier, the ditch started to flood.

The situation turned grim while the sea level was rising and some of the water poured over the land. The water hit the ground and drummed loud, making people nearly fell down when the walked beside the ditch as the water exceeded the level.

Later the rain eased off and the sky became brighter in light blue. I opened my umbrella and promenaded along the lane. The aqueous puddles appeared after the downpour. They looked pure and as clear as pearls in the ocean.

I gingerly walked along the lane. The flowers in the planters were dripping with water droplets which shore brightly with vibrant colours. I squatted beside the planter and picked a petal of a rose from the crowd of flowers. Its surface was soft and smooth. The fragrance spread by the rose was fresh and made me feel energetic. The rose did not reveal its red face and turned herself to light pink and pretended to be a fair lady.

To my right, the Victoria Harbour was hazy, covered by the dense fog, and the buildings were covered by the indistinct clouds. It was so fascinating that there was an amazing scene on the Sunday afternoon. The drizzle was silky and smooth. My fingers felt itchy while it tickled my skin.

Finally, the rain stopped. The sky became azure and cloudless. A beautiful rainbow was hung in the vibrant skyline. I really enjoyed walking in the rain and it was a delightful experience.
