Hi Caveman

How’re you? How’s life after coming out from Camp Green Lake? After digging so many holes, I believe you have become much stronger compared with you before being sent to Camp Green Lake. I know you had faced many problems. Life must be hard in the past. I feel deeply sorry for you.

The first problem was you had been bullied by Derrick Dunne at school. I really understand that you had a hard feeling towards it. Even though you told the teachers about the bully, they did not believe you because your body size is much bigger than his. But bullies don’t come in size. I know that he had once taken your note book and flushed it down the toilet. How mischievous he was! That was really a miserable experience. How pitiful you are!! But I want to tell you that my deepest sympathy is with you. You must feel upset about that incident. Actually, you could change this horrible situation. The main problem is that the teachers didn’t believe you. Probably, it is because you didn’t have evidence to prove that Derrick bullied you. So, next time, if he bullies you again, you can secretly hide your mobile phone and record the whole process, including the things he says and does. After that, you can show it to the teachers. Then they will believe you and punish Derrick, the hateful bully.

The second problem is your teachers were not kind to you. Once, your Math teacher, Mrs. Bell, taught your class about ratio. She made comparison of your body size with the thinnest boy in your class to come up with the ratio3 to 1. But I guess they were unaware of your being hurt, and they didn’t mean it. I could feel your pain. You need to reveal to them your feeling in your heart and let them know it. They will know about your true feeling and will avoid doing this kind of thing anymore.

Let me tell you my own experience!! Last year, I had unsatisfactory exam results because I failed some subjects. I did not understand why. I couldn’t believe that after devoting so much effort to doing revision, my result could still be poor. I always cried and suffered great pressure because I did not know how to talk to my parents, who had great expectations on my results. I couldn’t stand the stress and finally told my teachers about my worries. With their encouragement, I told my parents about my results. I was then very thankful that they did not scold me. They encouraged me and helped me on my study. I realized that when we face difficulties, we should chat with our family because the support from them is the most important thing. I believe that no matter how big the problem is, with love and care from our family and people around us, we can overcome it. So, remember to tell your parents and your teachers about your worries and problems. This is the best method, I believe.

Anyway, after entering Camp Green Lake, you have become much stronger, both mentally and physically. I admire your bravery coping with your hardships staying in the camp and your determination to save Zero, took care of him and carried him on your own up the God’s thumb. I’m also impressed by your courage and calmness when you faced the wicked Warden. I believe that, with these good qualities you possess, you can solve any problem and overcome any difficulties ahead of you. So, actually, going into Camp Green Lake is a precious experience for you! I believe in you and I support you! Please also believe in yourself! Don’t give up! Wish you all the best!

Best wishes,

Hayley
