A Thunder Night

One night, I awoke by the sound of distant thunder.  As I opened my eyes, I found myself in Ivy’s bedroom.  I was totally curious, ‘Why am I there?’  Finally, I turned on the light and looked at the image on my hand mirror.  The one on the mirror had long hair and a pair of glasses on her.  I recognized her.  She was Ivy.  I jumped up and screamed loudly.  I knew it was the thunderstorm.  It crashed into our skeletons and, Ivy and I exchanged our spirits!!!

Next day, I went to school and found that “I” was sitting on my seat like a statue.  I immediately put down my schoolbag and chatted with her worriedly.

“Ivy, I know that it’s you.  I’m Gigi.  We exchanged our spirits!  What could we do now?”  I asked.

“I know that too but I really don’t know what to do.  Let’s pretend that nothing happened, you act like me, and I act like you.  OK?”  Ivy asked.

“OK.”  I sighed.  And we kept our fingers crossed, wished good luck to each other.

In the Chinese lesson, I just couldn’t concentrate on my work because there were many questions swimming in my mind:  Will we change back our spirits again?  What can I do if we can’t change back?  How canFor the whole lesson, I was day-dreaming and day-dreaming.

“Ring……” the recess bell rang finally.  I quickly jumped out of my seat and stretched my arms.  All my friends came to my seat, Yoyo said, “You seem strange today, Ivy.  What happened?”

“Yeah, I agree too,” Erica nodded, pointed at Ivy and me, “Ivy is acting like Gigi, and Gigi is acting like Ivy.  Why?”

“That’s be…because…”  Ivy murmured.

“That’s because we exchanged our spirits.  Don’t tell anyone!”  I whispered.

When they heard the news, they were all shocked and dumbfounded.   “Don’t worry. We’ll TRY to help you.” said Stephanie.

At lunch , my friends helped us to think of a solution. Suddenly, Stephanie’s eyes lit up and said, “I’ve got an idea!”

“What is it?”

“Acccording to my scientific research, you can bang your head. Your brains will vibrate and your spirits will exchange!”

“Well, that’s a sill thing to do.”

“But you just have to try. Uncle Ma living in the US exchanged his spirit with his wife last week too. But he banged his head with his wife’s and surprisingly, they went back to normal again!”

“Okay…”

Then, Yoyo said to us, “Ok? Ready? Three…Two…” “Bong!” before she said one, Ivy and I already banged our heads.

“Does it work?” they asked hopefully.

“Not quite. Instead of exchanging spirits, I’m a bit dizzy now!” Ivy moaned.

After school, we stayed at Secret Garden (a secret place at school) to think of another solution. We’ve tried many methods and even searched for the school library, but we still did not know what to do. “What can we do now? Will you two become like this forever?” screamed Stephanie. The sky became darker and darker and it started to thunder. “Ivy, this is the time! Yesterday, the thunder crashed into our bones and we changed our spirits!” Ivy nodded and we ran back to our homes, jumped into our beds, like yesterday when we exchanged our spirits. There was a sudden flash of thunder, flashing to our skeletons.

Next day’s morning when I woke up, I discovered that my skin colour was brown and I had a round belly. I took a look at my fingers. They were as fat as bananas! I was very afraid, so I rushed to the toilet mirror and looked through it. I was stunned, I screamed again—I exchanged my spirit with Mango!!!

From this experience, I’ve learnt a lesson: Never wake up at thunder nights!
