Inflation

Money! Money! Money! You can’t survive in this world without money. But as the price of goods keeps rising, you may not have enough money or you use up all your money. As a smart teenager, I would absolutely do something to help my parents face the problem of inflation.

Clothes, how can a teen survive without a cute, nice outfit? I love buying clothes, especially some from the famous brands. Of course, those clothes are quite pricey. Then later, I found out there are some clothes in the small boutique which look similar to those from the famous brands, just without that logo. I think its fine for me, so I start buying clothes from those shops. And it really saves a lot of money for my parents.

Food is the most affected goods in inflation, so the price of lunch at school or outside school has risen a lot. My brother suggested I bring my own lunch. I think it is a very great idea, because I can control the amount of the food inside my lunchbox to avoid wastage. And also I can put what I like in it, like a cereal bar, some cookies. I am sure I can’t get a similar lunchbox at the tuck shop.

Also, my dad suggested a good method to save money too. It is to turn off all the TVs, computers, and wifi modem after ten thirty. He thinks it is an awesome method to save money and make me go to bed earlier. I used to go online, chatting with my friends till very  late at night. But after these “policies” have been adopted, I sleep earlier and the electricity fee has dropped. It’s the most effective way to save money, though I miss the times chatting with my friends warm and cozily in my bed.

The last way is a bit funny and weird, but I really like it though. I love to read magazines from foreign countries, like Seventeen, TeenVogue. Because they are imported from America, the price is very high. These thin but fun to read magazines cost $30-$50, which is much higher than the other local magazines. I used to buy every issue at a bookstore. But now, to save money, I would flip through the pages to find if it is interesting to read. If so, I will buy it; if not, then I‘ll read a few pages at the supermarket, then put it back to the shelf. My mom pays for my magazines, so she can save a hundred dollars a month now.

There are still tons of other ways to save money; I still need a little more time to figure them out. So if you know some, why don’t you suggest me some?
