Nowadays, more and more students in Hong Kong are going overseas for their studying. It is a controversial issue that people have different opinion over this topic. In this essay, I am going to explain both the disadvantages and disadvantages of studying abroad.

One argument in favor of studying overseas is that we could learn to be independent. If we study abroad, we will leave our parents and we need to take care of ourselves. We can no longer rely on our parents, but do everything by ourselves. It is a good way to let us learn to be independent. As we may stay in the host family or in the dormitories, we need to help to do the housework. For example, we need to cook for our breakfast. We may also need to sweep the floor and be aware of the tidiness of our rooms.

Besides learning to be independent, it may also broaden our horizons. We have more exposure of new things and experience the local cuisine of the place you are going to. If you are going to study overseas in France, you may try the escargots. We may also join and experience the local festivals. We can know more about the country. We can also visit many famous locations to widen our horizons. We can visit the Eiffel Tower in France and the Clock Tower in England during our excursions.

After talking about the benefits, we are going to talk about the drawbacks of studying abroad.

The first drawback is that we may face discrimination. Racial discrimination is common in Australia. We may br treated unfairly. Some of us may be bu;;ied and we may have a hard life if we study abroad. It is not easy for us to get into their social circle. Our acadamic results will beaffected if we feel depressed and sad as we are always treated badly and unfairly. It is really a serious problem in some countries such as Australia and the U.S.

Another problem of studying abroad is that there will be cultural shock. Every country has her own habits and culture, We may not adapt to the foreign culture. For instance, people are going to the same toilet and bathroom in France. We will feel embarrassed and uncomfortable as it is different from the Hong Kong culture. It will be pretty inconvenient and we will find it difficult to follow their culture. If we cannot follow their culture, it will be difficult for us to stay there for studying.

In conclusion, there are both positive and negative reasons for studying abroad. After careful consideration, the benefits are more significant than the drawbacks. Therefore, I think that studying overseas can help us to exercise our self-discipline and it is a good way to learn more. It is good to grab the chance to study overseas.
