The Inside Story of Big Bad Wolf

Big Bad Wolf was a bad character in the story of The Three Little Pigs, so everyone disliked him. Yesterday, I met Big Bad Wolf! He walked nearer and nearer to me! I was afraid but I stood still because my legs were trembling and could hardly move. Big Bad Wolf held out his hand and said, “Sorry! I don’t want to scare you, but there’s something I really need to tell! I know you are a star reporter so please post my story on the newspaper.” I shook hands with him and sat down on a chopped tree that looked like a stool. I agreed to tell everyone the story and took out my notebook.

“So that’s my story,” said Big Bad Wolf. “It all happened seven years ago…

“I was young at that time and had the sharpest teeth and claws among the wolves. The other wolves were envious and liked to hang out with me. However, I was a vegetarian so my claws and teeth were not for catching little animals and my friends said that it was such a waste of having such sharp claws and teeth. I also made friends with geese, ducks, sheep and chickens. I was friendly and protected my friends from being eaten by other wolves. Days went as usual and my life was peaceful until one day…

One day, my bride-to-be’s foster father, a wizard who lived in a hollow tree wanted to eat pigs. He wanted pork chop for lunch and ham for dinner every day. He used his magic power, the crystal ball and the magic mirror to find the best pig hunter among all wolves. Unfortunately, my face, name and my information appeared in the crystal ball and the magic mirror because I had the sharpest claws and teeth.

The wizard invited me, as his future son-in-law, to his house for tea and to have a chat together. Also, he served me with chocolate chip and Earl Grey Tea. I drank the tea and ate all the cookies because I was very hungry. Then, I fell deep asleep. The wicked wizard put a spell on the food so I fell asleep and he could hypnotize me. I suddenly stood up and stormed out of the room. I ran to the Piggy Village and was very furious. Under the control of the wicked wizard, I destroyed the houses of two pigs. The two pigs ran into a brick house where their brother lived and was safe there. I had no way to get into the house so the wizard gave up and I was asleep again in the middle of the forest.

When I woke up, I found that my bride-to-be, Beauty Wolf was next to me and was shedding tears. She was afraid that I was dead and was glad that I was alright. I couldn’t remember a thing but when I saw the roof of the reed house and wooden house wasn’t there anymore, I asked her what had happened to the Piggy’s Village. Beauty Wolf told me her foster father’s wicked plan and what I had done. I was furious and hit the wizard until he was regretful for what he had done.

In these seven years, I married Beauty Wolf and had three children together. I also ran back to the Piggy’s Village and wanted to apologize to the Three Little Pigs. However, all pigs closed their windows and locked their doors when I came. So I apologized and bowed in front of their houses. I also promised I would never come back again and swore that I really was a vegetarian wolf.”

Big Bad Wolf seemed to be sad and his head went down as he told me his story.

“Darling, where are you? Time to go home!” a voice yelled and a pregnant wolf carrying a baby and holding two little wolves appeared behind the trees.

“Here I am, honey!” Big Bad Wolf yelled. “Sorry,” he apologized, “I need to go home. See you soon, star reporter. I hope you won’t break your promise.” Then, Big Bad Wolf went home with his wife and children.

I posted the story and our manager, Wolfie Richman appreciated my passage a lot. He posted it on the front page and highlighted it in today’s headline of Forest News. I hope Big bad Wolf would be called Big Good Wolf when the real story is published.
