‘Charity Sports Day’ Need Your Support
Do you get bored with your tiring studies? Are you being overwhelmed by piles of homework and quizzes? Here comes an interesting and meaningful activity for you! Next month, our school will be holding a ‘Charity Sports Day’ to raise money for an organization, the Love Mission, helping the disabled to buy sports equipment.
Some may think that ‘Oh! It will be just another boring activity!’ If you think like this, you are definitely wrong and I would like to tell you why this event is so meaningful and interesting. In Hong Kong, most of the disabled can only lie on their beds or sit in their wheelchairs. They cannot play around happily or do sport activities easily. In fact, there is lots of sports equipment, which is specially designed and suitable for them to use. But most of them do not have enough money to buy the equipment. The ’Charity Sports Day’ is actually going to raise money for an organization which helps the disabled to buy sports equipment. All the proceeds in the event will go to the organization. With the money, the disabled could do sports happily. Doing exercises helps them to maintain health in both mental and physical aspects. Your kind donation can greatly help the disabled to maintain a healthy life. Don’t you think that it is really meaningful?  However, the ‘Charity Sports Day’ needs your support and donation. Without your participation, the event will not be successful and the disabled could not get the money to buy sports equipment.
Therefore, here come the details of the programmes. The ‘Charity Sports Day’ will be held on 12 July, Saturday.  It will be held from 9:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. There will be lots of different fund-raising activities on that day.  It will be great fun! Let me introduce them to you one by one. To begin with, there will be a series of competitions for students. The 100m, 200m and 400m runs, the high jump, long jump events etc. You just need to find your friends to donate money for supporting you, then you can join these exciting competitions. Or else, you could sponsor yourselves in order to join them. You could do sports to raise funds and have fun with your schoolmates at the same time. Isn’t this meaningful? Secondly, there will be the teachers’ events. We have invited many teachers to take part in the competition, such as Mr. Smith and Teacher Wai Yee. However, with more donations, more teachers will join the competitions. For example, there will be a running competition. Do you want to see your favorite teachers running on the track? Do you want to see Mr. Smith and Teacher Wai Yee competing with each other? Just simply donate money to the box outside the office and fill in a form indicating which teacher you want to support.
The disabled need your helping hand.  The ‘Charity Sports Day’ also needs your participation and generous donation. Don’t just sit aside and bury your head into the textbooks!  Let’s join this meaningful event and help the disabled!
