Have you ever seen abandoned pets walking in parks? They are upset and desperate. They are always starving and can only look for food residues in the rubbish bins. Do you want to see this kind of scene taking place again and again? As a member of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), I would like to tell you that everybody can contribute to solving the problem. Nowadays, the problem of abandoned pets is becoming more and more serious, it is time for society to face the problem, and this is also the ambition of our organization.

It is definitely important for the pet owners to be responsible. This is the main cause of the problem of animal abuse. If the owners are not responsible enough, the situation can be worse than one can ever imagine. Firstly, more and more abandoned pets will appear. This will greatly affect our living environment. Second, owners themselves may be charged and prosecuted by the law. Therefore, it is must for the pet owners to be responsible.

Is it so difficult to be a responsible pet owner? Absolutely not. First of all, whenever you are going to purchase your own pet, please think twice before you make your decision. You should understand that keeping a pet is a life-long commitment. After becoming a pet owner, you should love your companion. Not only should you satisfy its physical needs, but also consider it as your family member.

Besides, support from the public is also essential for animal protection. Although it sounds difficult, it can be easily done when most of the people are willing to contribute their efforts. Spreading the message of animal welfare is the easiest way to help animal protection as you can influence others. Joining voluntary work relevant to animal protection is also a way to make contribution. The SPCA often organizes activities and volunteers are always welcome. Of course, if you can afford the expense and have enough time, what is better than adopting abandoned pets? They are waiting for those who truly love them and are willing to take care of them.

The SPCA is an organization aiming at protecting animals and promoting animal welfare. We hope that all of you, no matter whether you are pet owners or not, could share your love with animals which are also lives. If you wish to give your helping hand, please feel free to contact us.
