How can I help Edith to improve her self-esteem?

Edith likes to look at my drawings. She always asks me to give my drawings to her as presents and she also likes to buy some books which are about drawing comics, but she seldom draws. I once asked her why she didn’t attend any drawing classes with me. She told me that she thought her drawings were ugly. She was not confident in showing us her drawings.
Therefore, I decide to help Edith to improve her self-esteem. First, I will ask Edith which country’s or dynasty’s clothes she is interested in, so she can concentrate on drawing one type of clothes and it is easier for me to teach her.
Then, she has to read more popular comics and jot down the characteristics of each character. These will teach her how to understand the style of each comic and help her to find the style for her characters in her comic—which is the key to drawing comics of her own style.
After that, I will ask Edith to attempt to draw clothes which are on the magazines. This will help her to know more about practical tactics and strategies that she can use for drawing clothes.
Also, it is important to encourage her when she wants to give up. No one can draw very well at the beginning. We all need to practise drawing.
At last, I will ask her to avoid comparison. Different people have different drawing styles and she needs more practices at first. Comparing with others will make her feel self-conscious. This will limit her growth.
I think these methods are useful to help Edith to improve her self-esteem. I am sure she can draw better later!
