Cyber-bullying

Cyber-bullying is now very popular. The bullies play tricks on others for their own excitement. They also get a sense of excitement or they want to take revenge.

However, the victims have been psychologically hurt. When I was in primary six, my friend was being bullied. The cyber-bullies logged into her Facebook account, invaded her privacy and changed her profile picture. They even posted insulting comments. When she was telling me about these things, she was weeping. She even escaped from school. Therefore, her academic performance became very poor. Fortunately, some social workers helped her and she finally came back to school. However, she was still upset about that.

Actually, I think cyber-bullying is even worse than bullying someone physically. When the bullies beat you, you may have some wounds but you will recover a few days later. However, cyber-bullying is different. For instance, when somebody used foul language to insult you on the Internet, you may feel hurt and ask yourself,
“Is that true? Am I really bad? Why will they treat me like this?” There will be a “scar” in their mind and they cannot recover easily. The victims may escape from difficulties. They may even think that life is meaningless and they will commit suicide! The bullies will then feel very guilty because the victims suffer from the permanent wounds.

In conclusion, we should NEVER be a cyber-bully or you will regret and it will be too late.
