I Am The Old Banyan Tree

Having stood for decades,
Watching over the residents of Kwun tong.
Hearing how bad the rates
Have gone wrong.
While providing shade for them, the sorrowful,
Silently hoping for their tears to cease.
But they only get more tearful,
As their sadness is on the increase.
Remember me?
I am the old banyan tree,
Who has once given you shelter.

Kwun Tong,
My dear old friend.
Remember all the wonderful songs,
We have heard trend after trend.
Remember them all, old to new,
There are not just a few.
Now that you have to be redeveloped,
I will have to be destroyed.
My old friend, remember me,
I am the old banyan tree,
Whom you have spent decades of time with.

Mr. Developer,
I understand that I am a trouble.
I am in fear,
For you have no moral.
Why send me to my grave?
Can I really not be saved?
Is there really no way,
For me to somehow make your day?
Even so, please remember me,
I am the old banyan tree,
Who has once proudly stood, in Kwun Tong.
