Why the school needs ambassadors
At this time every year, many schools will organize their information days for parents and students to acquire a deeper understanding of the school’s studying environment, quality of facilities and student performance. Our school, Hong Kong College, is not only well-known for our fabulous public examination results, but also the excellent studying environment. It is important that parents and students in the community could also know about the good culture of our school. We would like to recruit school ambassadors to take up this mission.
School ambassadors are the student representatives acting as role models to show the favourable policies and environment our school provides to facilitate students’ learning. By sharing our own experience with students and parents from outside, they could get a more comprehensive picture of the school. This is the reason why the school needs ambassadors because they are the ones who have experienced school life and the quality studying environment of the school is manifest in their good model. This can build up the guests’ confidence in and thus help the community acquire a full understanding image of our school.
What qualities we look for in an ambassador
We are looking for students who have good communication skills to allow them to chat with the guests with good manner and politeness on the Information Day. Having satisfactory results in exams is another quality we consider in school ambassadors, who can take up their mission to show the good quality of the studying environment to our guests. We are expecting school ambassadors to address the guests’ doubts by using their first-hand experience. Their friendly attitude and good social skill would be of great help to their job.
How you benefit from joining the program
Not only can students earn an extra OLE record on their report card, the school ambassadors could also enhance their communication and activity organizing skills as the school will offer relevant training and guidance during the preparation time for the Information Day. Moreover, students joining the program could meet other students from different forms and classes. Through this program, they could get to know more about each other and thus enlarge their social circle. What’s more, by exposing themselves to a new area and becoming the leaders and representatives of the school, they gain valuable experiences which will definitely be beneficial to their future, both their career and studying life.
