A Mystery Location

We have already been studying in Carmel for more than a year. I am sure that most of us have adapted to the environment of Ho Man Tin already and some of us may even have tried to wander around the community. As we are getting familiar with the community, let’s try to guess which place it is!

First of all, most of the people may probably think of some high-class and brand new estates like One Ho Man Tin when talking about Ho Man Tin. However, this place is just the opposite of what I want to tell. It is quite an old area that has been existing for decades. Also, this place is just about three-minute walk from our school. It has a similar color to Carmel. It’s partly in green and yellow in color. When you look at this place from Hung Hom, the towers that only contain about twenty floors are like “enormous greenish dominos” which are placed neatly.

Moreover, there are many facilities inside and surrounding this place. For example, there is a wet market that sells all kinds of fresh food for people living nearby. During the weekdays when everyone is going to school or work, many housewives and mostly the elderly gather there to shop for food. But during the lunch period, we will see groups of students from schools nearby buying their lunch there as there are also shops that sell snacks like garlic noodles which are popular among students. Besides, there is a bus stop nearby letting students travel to different places. As there are a variety of buses passing by, you will probably hear annoying noises from engines of buses. But if you think from another angle, this bus stop may be the main reason that makes this area accessible. Also, there is a shopping mall next to the bus stop where most restaurants in this area are located. Therefore, if you pass by these restaurants, you will probably have your mouth watered as the pleasant smell of the food will give you a strong desire to have a meal instantly.

Furthermore, as what I have mentioned, this place is an old area and the population there are mostly old people. Therefore, when we go to school every morning, we might hear them play their favorite music from the past while doing exercise in the park. In the afternoon, the benches in the park near this place will be full of old people chattering together.

After all the clues I give and using your own knowledge of Ho Man Tin, do you have a picture in your mind of what the mystery place is?
