An hour, a day, a week, a month, a year……Time flies away quickly, the year of the Goat was already ended and it is now the start of the year of Monkey. Let me share my resolutions this year.

My first resolution is having a healthy body. Besides studying, I should have some time to do some regular exercise, because I basically do homework and revision every day, including the weekends. On Sundays, I hope to have some exercise with my whole family. For example, I would love to jog in the park, or play table tennis, as they are my hobbies. Besides, I was always ill before and I hope to have good health. I hope to run away from illness. On top of that, I hope to drink more water, because I drink only little water. Seldom do I remember to drink water, or even never pick up the water bottle to drink any water at school.

My second resolution is to improve learning or studying at school, because in the first examination, I could not get good results. I cannot achieve the goal in Student Led Conference either. I set to get 75% or above in every subject but it was far behind the standard. I should improve the ways of learning and the learning attitude. I should put an hour in Mathematics Revision on every Saturday morning as my results in Mathematics is not acceptable. I am interested in History and English, so I put more effort in them. But in Mathematics, I put less time in it because I am always afraid of making mistakes. The score in Examination this time is a good warning for me to pay more effort in it. Beside, I should do homework faster and take more rest. I do homework as slowly as a tortoise and always sleep at around 11:30 at night. Sometimes if I have not enough sleep, I will feel tired and can hardly concentrate. (I want to concentrate but I find it very hard if I don’t have enough sleep.)

My third resolution is to take more rest. For me, every minute of rest is very important. According to what Mr. Chui said in the short assembly after the Examination, if I sleep an hour less, I may lose seven IQ points. And if I sleep fifteen minutes less, I may get a grade lower in Examinations, tests or quizzes. I think in the first Examination, the marks are really related to the time I rest. At the night before Mathematics Examination, I slept at around 11:30 and on the next day I felt tired when doing the Mathematics Examination paper. I also got such a poor mark. On the other hand, I slept at around 10:00 the night before History Examination and, the marks are much higher than Mathematics Examination. In fact, I think I should sleep earlier, at least before 11:00.

My fourth resolution is to read Bible more often. It seems to be difficult because I may not have enough time. But I will still try to read it every day. ‘When we put God first, all other things fall into their proper place or drop out of our lives.’ I should pay more time to the religion. I should also remember that whenever I have problems, I could seek help from God by praying. So I should pray more often.

Last but not least, as I always want to go to the fellowship on Thursday after school, I should do homework faster than a tortoise sometimes my parents do not allow me to attend it because I haven’t done my homework. I will try my best to finish all my homework quickly so that my parents would allow me to go to the fellowship.

Those are my resolutions this year. I found that there are many things I didn’t do well last year and I hope to improve myself in the year of Monkey.
