How I became a pop star

I love singing very much with my guitar. Being a singer is my dream. In the summer after my graduation from my secondary school, a local summer music festival was held. I had no hesitation and immediately signed up to join the performance in the festival. Standing on the platform in the sportsground, I performed the song “Believe Me” which was composed by myself in front of hundreds of audience members. After the performance, one day Star Entertainment (the record company that I am now working for) contacted me and wanted to train me to become a pop star. I could not believe it at first as I had never thought that I really had the potential to be a pop star. But when the precious opportunity came, I grabbed it at once. After signing the contract, I received harsh training for three months. Finally, my dream which seemed to be impossible came true. With compliments from the audience, I am now a pop star and luckily, a famous one.

What I enjoy most about being a pop star

I enjoy my life being a pop star and singing in front of the audience. What I enjoy most is to spread the message of hope and happiness to people through singing. I insist on performing songs which bring positive messages to my audience. I believe that songs are not only with melody, but with lyrics which are lessons for everyone. Just like my first song, “Believe Me”, through this song, I want to share the message of perseverance with my fans. Never look down on yourself and you can succeed. I

feel elated when my audience wear a smile on their faces with hope and confidence after hearing my songs. Once my fan told me that she was originally very depressed because of her failure in the school exam. But my song encouraged her not to give up and she was then more confident with her future. The success of spreading positive messages makes me feel happier than receiving any music awards.

The biggest shock about being a pop star

After being a pop star, I find out that it is never an easy task to make a performance. Before standing on the stage for a performance for a few minutes, I actually need a few months for practice. I have to practice singing and a bit of dancing every day for eight to ten hours. Take my last music concert as an example. Before that I had spent half a year to prepare for six songs. I needed to practice with my band and designed the decoration of the stage and my clothing with a team of designers. The sweat and tears I had in the preparation stage made me appreciate and respect all singers. They let me know how much the singers love singing and performing in spite of having much harsh time.

What I learnt in school that helped me to succeed

I am really thankful for the music lessons and the lunchtime mini concerts in my secondary school. They provided me a lot of opportunities to show my talent and interest in singing. They taught me one thing — no one is going to make you succeed unless you grab the chance. I learnt to be confident and to actively grab the chances to perform in front of others in the music lessons and during lunchtime. Without the courage which I gained and learnt in school, I could not stand out and become a pop star. Till now, I believe that only the one who believes in himself or herself can shine. This person is me, and can be you too!
