The person that I admire most is Dr. Tse Yuen Man. She worked in Tuen Mun Hospital. During 2003, there was a serious disease spreading quickly around Hong Kong. It was the SARS. SARS, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome, is a disease that caused a lot of deaths, and Dr. Tse Yuen Man Joanna was included. She caught this disease because she volunteered to work in the Intensive Care Unit. Unfortunately, she caught SARS and died.
I felt really touched when I heard this story. She needed not to do that. Of course she knew how dangerous it was, but she stood still. All of the healthcare professionals were just motivated by a thought then– saving others’ lives while they did not even know the patients’ names!
As a Christian, she has ascended to Heaven. Her work on the earth is done. We should admire her and also learn from her. It doesn’t mean that we have to be a nurse but that we can try to love everyone and feel thankful for everything. Again, thank you Dr. Joanna Tse.
