A speech on being volunteer tutors

Good morning, Principal, teachers and schoolmates.
I’m the chairperson of the Student Union, Chris Wong from 6A.  I’m glad to have this opportunity to stand here and share with you.  Have you attended any tutorial classes?  I guess so.  However, have you ever tried to be a tutor in the tutorial classes and teach others?  Here is an opportunity for you to try it.
The Student Union plans to organize some free tutorial classes for the children in low-income families in Hung Hom.  As you all may have experienced not understanding something in a book and being in need of help, you can understand how hopeless the children in low-income families are.  You may afford to go to tutorial classes which help you with your problems in study, but the children in low-income families don’t have such an opportunity.  Are you willing to help them?  You, yes you, can be volunteer tutors!
You can teach what the children don’t understand to them and also care about their lives and friends.  You can teach them homework and be friends with them.  The children from low-income families can gain a lot of knowledge and support from you and they’ll be very happy.  Also, their study may improve because of your help.  Their lives will become more colourful than before and they’ll realize that love exists in society.
Apart from what the children can benefit, you can also benefit from the service as a volunteer tutor.  When you know that the children who you teach have got good performance in their studies, you would be very happy.  Let me tell you, this happiness is much greater than the happiness that you’ve ever experienced!  Also, you can actually learn from what you’ve taught.  That is called ‘Teaching while learning’.  You can memorize the things that you’ve taught others more easily and you will have a deeper understanding of them.
If both you and the children from low-income families can benefit from this volunteer service, what are you waiting for?  You should be thankful and happy to have the chance to help others.  I call upon all of you to participate and serve others.  The children really need your help!  Do come to 6A for more details and sign up for this meaningful service.
This is the end of my sharing.  Thank you!
