It was always tiring after work.  I put my hand into my pocket, took out the only money I had got and started counting.
‘One, two…only a hundred dollars!’ My heart dropped and I started worrying.
‘How can I survive with just a hundred dollars for a month!  Oh…I’m going to eat a piece of bread for my meal!’
When I was walking in the mall, trying to find a cheap bakery, I heard a conversation that annoyed me.
‘Look Lily!  This is my very first credit card!  I’ve been working so hard to get this!  I got all As in my tests this term.  So my dad signed up this card for me!’ The girl in a red skirt kept talking and giggling with her friends.
‘Oh!  Please shut up!’ I shouted in my mind.
The girl stopped laughing and took out a long sheet.
‘Okay, now, let’s start my shopping plan!  I really want three new CDs!  Let’s take a look into the record shop first.’
I quickly followed their route to the record shop.  I was a poor man and who needed the money or the credit card?  It was me!  I couldn’t even afford my living expenditure… I crept behind.  Later on I chased them.  I just wanted a credit card so much!  Eventually, puffing and panting, I arrived at the fifth floor.  The two girls were in front of me and the shop was a few steps away.
‘Go!  Go!  The only thing that can change your life!  You need a credit card.’
I headed towards the two girls; my hand could nearly grab the girls’ bag.
‘Welcome to ABC record shop!  Sir, you are the one thousand and first customer of the year!’ shouted the manager of the shop.
‘No!  I nearly… You dash my dream!  My saviour!’ I escaped from the manager and rushed to the girls ahead.
‘Ouch!’ I didn’t realize that they were just in front of me so I ended up bumping into the girls.
Right after the accident, staff from the shop took me to a seat nearby and announced, ‘The thousand and first customer will receive a million dollars from our company!  Congratulations!’
When I was supposed to shout and cheer, there was a loud scream.  The girl in the red skirt rushed towards me and looked fierce.  ‘Pickpocket!  Give me back my wallet!’
The entire shop went deathly quiet.  We were all shocked.  All of a sudden, a sales assistant ran away.  I didn’t need to explain because the escape of this man told us who the thief was!
All human beings chased after the thief, leaving just a million dollar cheque.  No more cheering, no more celebrating.  But enough for me!  My entire life!  I kissed the cheque and headed off to a fine dining restaurant.
