Friday evening
The foreign students must not miss our beautiful Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade. I recommend that we could take them to the Avenue of Stars. There are floor plagues with handprints and autographs of famous celebrities and movie stars. The students could have a leisure walk along the avenue, finding out more about the movie industry in Hong Kong. The highlight of the stroll is a visit to the life-size statue of the kung fu movie hero, Bruce Lee, who is extremely famous not only in our city but all over the world. The students must want to know more about him. There is also the famous laser show “A Symphony of Lights”. The students could enjoy the fabulous night show of our city and its spectacular skyline. The night walk is free of charge.
Saturday
After enjoying the night view on Friday, it would be a good idea to bring them to a Chinese restaurant to have a morning tea. They could try some typical Guangdong dim sum and experience the food culture of Hong Kong personally. After the breakfast, we could take them to visit the Ladies’ Market in Mongkok. This street provides one-kilometre crowded aisles with over 100 stalls of bargain clothing accessories and souvenirs. In Mong Kok, it is easy to taste the local snacks, such as beef offal, pineapple buns, Hong Kong-style egg tarts and mini egg puffs. The local snacks are tasty and not expensive. In the evening, we could enjoy the street singing performance in Temple Street. There are also some fortune-tellers at night. This would help the students understand different cultures and the life-style of Hong Kong.
Sunday
Having visited the city area, it would be nice to bring the students to the Hong Kong Wetland Park. It is a world-class ecotourism park which is built for conserving a vital ecosystem as well as educating the public about environmental protection and wetland conservation. Students could visit the crocodile “Bei Bei” at a close distance and enjoy bird-watching. Visiting the Stanley Market would also be a fantastic choice. The famous Murray House on Stanley waterfront provides the view of the picturesque village on the south side of Hong Kong Island, which is gaining a reputation. As a gourmet hot spot and foodies, it would be terrific for the students to have a personal experience in this paradise.
