Good afternoon, Form 3 students,

This is Tracy Wong from 4D. As an academic leader, I’m here to share some personal experience on how to study smartly.

To begin with, I’m sure all of you are up to your eyes in work and can’t take it anymore. You will complain about not having a life. Well, who can blame you? Managing 10 subjects isn’t a piece of cake.

However, I’m not going to tell you to keep your noses to the grindstone all the time. Instead, if you know how to prioritize the subjects according to their importance, you can make your life easy. For example, if you are interested in Chemistry, put more time and effort. This can increase your chance of getting into the favourite classes. Although other subjects may not be equally important, it doesn’t mean you can ignore them. You still have to work on them but require less time.

Another smart strategy is often repeated by teachers and parents. And that is, to do with time. No doubt, good time management can make a big difference. Arrange your weakest subjects on weekends when you can spend more time. Personally, I put Physics on weekends as this subject requires me a lot of critical thinking and analyzing. By the way, you are advised to cut out on most of the curricular activities, leaving only one or two. I know it’s heart-breaking though. As the old saying goes, “ No pain, no gain”. With some sacrifices in Form 3, you’ll have a fruitful year in Form 4 when you can have quality of time in your interest.

The last resource is always the teachers. If you don’t know anything, turn to them and they will never say “no”. They will be very happy to assist you. Last year, when I was in Form 3, my Chemistry teacher Mr. Tsui always had tutorial lessons with the students who encountered difficulties in Chemistry. It was my pleasure to have such a kind and helpful teacher.

In a word, it is essential for you to know how to work wisely in Form 3. Boys and girls, it’s time for you to give up your old learning method. Be smart and flexible. With that I wish you all a successful year and some excellent exam passes at the end of it. Keep

Going! Thankyou!
