For years, there has been a lot of discussion about puppy love. Puppy love can be a double-edged sword as the advocates feel that “puppy love” is natural and should not be banned. Yet, those who take a negative attitude think that it should be banned as it can lead to undesirable results. It is worthwhile to take a glance at teenage romance.

The first factor supporting the banning of teenagers’ romantic relationship by law is that it can prevent the problems caused by immaturity. As teenagers are still in a stage of growing up, they may not have mature ideas about love, which will lead to some dire consequences such as teen pregnancy or suicide after break-up. If the law is set up, those unpleasant results could be avoided.

Another advantage of prohibiting teenagers from puppy love is that teenagers could put most of the energy on their study. Dating is an activity that requires time and it may affect the mood of the persons involved. Teens may not be good at time management or controlling emotion and they may spend lots of time on love and neglect the study, which will bring bad effects to their learning.

On the other hand, there are also some disadvantages of regulating puppy love. First and foremost, the development of romantic relationships is an important area in everyone’s life. Sometimes love can let us face different problems and it may help teens to discover themselves, which let them become mature faster. Banning puppy love will limit the life experience of teens.

Secondly, it is teens’ freedom to develop their romantic relationship. Once there is a law that prohibits them from their right, they may feel bad and do something such as protest to fight against the law. This will increase the conflicts between teens and the authority.

Considering all the benefits and drawbacks of setting up a law to prohibit teenagers from developing romantic relationships, I suppose that puppy love should not be banned.
