Tragic Katherine

Miss Katherine, the Kissing Kate Barlow, is the one who had a dramatic change in her life. She was the town’s only schoolteacher loved by many children and adults as well. Katherine’s beauty had attracted many young men, and Charles Walker was one of them.  Unfortunately, this was the start of the tragedy. Trout (Charles) Walker was the son of the richest man in the country. However, Katherine didn’t fall on love with him because of this. She didn’t even take a ride on his new boat. From this, we can see that Katherine was not only pretty, but also not greedy.

Katherine then fell in love with Sam, the onion man. But the most important thing is, they’re different in race. Once, Sam kissed Katherine under the heavy rain. They thought there was no one on the street but actually it wasn’t true. Hattie Parker, the only woman who saw that, had told many people. After that, they tried to escape by Sam’s boat. Sam was shot to death while poor Katherine was rescued.

This comes to the turning point of her life.

She became daring that she shot the sheriff and gave him the kiss that he required. She would give everyone a kiss after killing them. She also became the most famous robber on the west. Maybe her greediness could cover her sadness towards Sam’s death.

To sum up, I’d say Katherine’s life is tragic. At first, she was nice and pretty. Afterwards, she was still pretty but not that nice already. She became a cruel woman. All of this was because of Trout’s revenge. Sam and Trout were the two men who most affected Katherine’s life.
