A FULL DAY WITH ALAN

Have you ever dreamed that you could spend a whole day with your favourite singer in Hong Kong?  Yes, I did.  And because of Youth Music Magazine, it actually happened.  I won the competition it organized and the rare opportunity to spend a day with my idol, Alan.

We were arranged to meet on a Saturday.  I treasured such a golden chance so much that I planned the itinerary three days in advance.  To maximize the time to be with Alan and to know more about her, I decided to start the day early in the morning.  We met at her studio.  My first sight of her that day was slightly different from the image she showed in the magazine but still she was gorgeous.  We introduced ourselves to each other.  She was really nice.  She probably knew I felt a bit nervous, so she took the initiative to shake hands with me.  Then she led me around, visiting her studio.  We chatted a lot along the way.  She told me although she is a singer, sadly, she doesn’t know how to play any instrument.  Then I suggested I could teach her how to play the electronic piano if she wished.  She immediately grabbed one.  I taught her to play a popular song of hers.  Its melody was simple, so she got a hang of it soon and looked overjoyed.  And the most exciting thing was I had sung a song with Alan.  It was even recorded.  Her agent promised me they would give me a CD demo later as a special gift.

Leaving the studio, we went to have an abundant lunch.  I was surprised that though Alan is slim, she eats beef and dessert.  We spent quite a long while in the restaurant and I just kept on asking her questions and sharing my stories with her.  I found out that she has loved to sing since she was five and her parents gave her great support.

In just a morning, we seemed to have become closer and were just like friends.  In the afternoon, I took her to my favourite shopping mall, Trendy House in Tsim Sha Tsui.  She enjoyed seeing all the things.  No one spotted Alan as she was wearing a cap.  We didn’t stay there long anyway.  I invited her to have dinner at my home.  She was very happy to have a chance to try my mum’s dishes.  Before she got to go, she gave me a note saying she had had a great time with me and she signed her autograph on all of my collections, which was so sweet.  I was thrilled.

When I lied in bed that night, I recalled every second I had with Alan.  I thought she was really an enthusiastic and nice lady.  She spent the day wholeheartedly with me.  I could also see the passion for singing in her.  Meeting Alan was wonderful, unforgettable and a dream-come-true.  Never had I been so happy.  I hope she could make greater success in music in the days to come.
