Being a teacher is not a good choice

I got an unforgettable experience of being a teacher yesterday.  I still vividly remember how nervous I was when I was going to teach my classmates in the English lesson.  In order to get a taste of teacher life, I volunteered to swap my role with my English teacher Miss Ng.  In the lesson, Miss Ng took my seat and became a student, while I became the teacher.  I might say that this was really a great challenge for me since I didn’t have any idea about what I needed to do during the class!
When I stepped into the classroom wearing the hat of a teacher, I was under pressure and I felt uneasy about facing 40 students.  All of them were staring at me with twinkling eyes.  However, I must carry on.  I flipped through the newspaper quickly and chose an article for the students to read.  It was hard for me to explain some difficult words or phrases in the newspaper.  Moreover, answering the students’ questions was not a simple job.  I had to be patient and try to clarify the answer step by step.  Whenever I saw Miss Ng sitting in front of me, I was anxious about my performance of being a teacher.
Besides teaching in class, teachers also need to correct homework books, attend different meetings and set exam papers.  Luckily, I didn’t get to do all these chores as it was already really exhausting for me to teach my own class English for a double period.
After the challenging experience, I think being a teacher is definitely not an easy job.  Teachers are always stressed.  They have to cope with different problems caused by the students.  As students, we shouldn’t blame the teachers anymore but respect and love them.  I’ve learnt a lot through this double period.
