An Amusing Teacher

This year, I was taught by a new teacher, Mr. Li.  He seemed to be a forgetful and … special person.
On the first school day, Mr. Li – our class teacher came into our classroom in the class teacher period.  He wrote down his name on the blackboard and sat on the teacher’s seat.  Without saying ‘Good Morning’ to us, he started to deal with the things on the teacher’s desk.  Nobody spoke a word as they knew nothing about Mr. Li.  Suddenly, he took up the attendance record and asked,
“Who is absent? Please put up your hand.”
Everyone burst into laughter, including me.
On another school day, when he was teaching Chinese, he punished one of our classmates for not bringing the textbook along. After twenty minutes, suddenly, he asked the classmate seriously.
 “Why are you standing?”
“You just told me to stand up!”
 “Did I? Anyway, keep standing.”
All classmates laughed their head off, including me.
In the end of term one, I also forgot to bring the textbook one day.  I told him and he punished me to copy a paragraph once.  It was quite long, but I still finished copying it during the lesson. I handed it in, then.
“Wow, you can copy it so fast. Then, copy it once more.”
 Everyone laughed loudly, except me.
I wish I did not have such a teacher, but in fact, he brought many interesting memories to all of us.
