Children in Hong Kong can do things on their own

The birthrate in Hong Kong is dropping in recent years. Every family usually has only one child. So children are often spoiled by their parents. It is a serious problem in Hong Kong. Below are my suggestions.

First, parents could let their children try to do some simple housework, for example, sweeping the floor, folding clothes, cleaning the table… It can build up their responsibility.

Second, children could also handle their own business. They can take the bus instead of taxi, so they will know the location of Hong Kong. Children can buy things by themselves too, so that they can be independent. They can learn lessons from failure.

Most importantly, parents should let children take care of themselves. They should wear clothes and pack their school bags by themselves. These are all easy for them. Parents don’t need to help them. Children need to get out of dependence from their parents.

According to my suggestions listed above, children will be responsible, independent and dare to face new things. When they grow up, they will thank their parents.
