Days of Exploring and Experiencing

I was so happy to be 18 and I hoped I could travel by myself.  I had never thought that I could get the chance so soon.  I got the Australian Working Holiday visa, and I was allowed to stay on holiday in the country for up to one year and to work there in order to make my living.
It was not an easy job to be a farmer.  As I stayed with a couple, Jack and Olivia, and they owned a farm,  they gave me a very rare chance to work for them.  I was very excited that I could be such a young farmer.  The farm was so big.  There were cows, chickens, and some crops.  I loved the place so much as I would be able to stay with the farm animals and work under the sun every day.
Since it was my first job and the first day that I arrived, the family I stayed with and the other farmers held a surprise party to welcome me.  They shared their experience with me and sang some songs to me.  We enjoyed it so much.
After the party, I was brought around the huge farm.  I tried to feed the chicks and touch the cows.  When I first took the food into the farm, all the chicks were chasing me.  I was so nervous that I just hid behind Olivia.  I worried that the animals would hurt me.
Then, Olivia brought me to the cows.  They were all giants!  I tried to look into their big eyes, and two of the cows took a step forward.  I was so frightened that I quickly walked a few steps back.  Unfortunately, they walked towards me again.  I thought that I was going to be eaten by the cows.  Therefore, I screamed out twice and all of the cows just ran away.
“Why did the cows run away after I shouted?” I asked stupidly.
“It’s a kind of signal to flee when they are in danger, such as in a fire,” Olivia explained to me patiently.
Then, Olivia ordered me to take the cows back.  I went far away from the farmland and used over two hours to look for them.  It was so hard as the countryside in Australia was huge and the weather was dry and hot.  Luckily, I could see the cows staying together and waiting for me to come.  Eventually, I could bring them back before it became dark.
When I got back, Jack and Olivia had already cooked the dinner and they were waiting for me.  Most of the ingredients of the meal were their farm produce.  It was so delicious.  Then, my first day there ended on a good note.
During the long holiday, I enjoyed the best time of my life.  Unlike staying in Hong Kong, I could feel very comfortable when I worked in Australia.  The people there do not rush and enjoy spending their time leisurely.  Also, I found my strengths and weaknesses when I was working there.  It was really a great experience for me.  I will definitely go again if I have this precious chance in the future.  I think all of you should grab all the chances to explore the world instead of just surfing the Internet and playing video games at home during holidays.  A working holiday can definitely pave the way for your future job.
