Rid the regretful compensated dating snare

Compensated dating has been a hot discussion topic in the society for a long time. The problem is getting more and more serious among the adolescents.

Some teenagers get involved in compensated dating because of a few reasons. First, nowadays teenagers chase after materialism. They think material gain is the key to happiness. They like to acquire luxuries, so many of them want to earn money from such shortcuts as to "betray" their bodies. Some even don't care about their lives simply for the sake of money. That they can buy Gucci, LV and so on to show off to their friends seems to matter more.

Second, many young women think compensated dating is a normal social activity which introduces them to new friends only. They think the other sides just require them to be their girl-friends, to shop and play with them only. They believe that they will not be involved in immoral trade.

Actually, this sort of dating would bring about many negative consequences to the girls, even an unforgettable hurt. They bear many risks behind the activity. First, their partners could be dangerous criminals, or mentally unstable men. In fact, there have been several cases of these teenagers being assaulted or even killed. Moreover, they may also contract diseases, AIDS and have pregnancy. These may destroy their whole lives and future prospects. Second, they may not only suffer from physical pain, but also mental pain. They couldn't forget these painful  memories. They will feel ashamed and have very low self-esteem. They may also think their bodies are very dirty.

To change the situation, moral education is necessary. Families and schools should teach the teenagers the right value and social behaviour. They should teach them to protect themselves, and the consequences of compensated dating. Moreover, they should teach the teenagers that they should focus on building friendships, spending time with their family and focusing on their studies, but not luxuries. Teenagers should also avoid materialism and focus on meaningful things. They can participate in more activities held by schools or churches, to find the right living attitude. Arresting the women involved in the trade is not a good way to tackle the problem. They need to be taught, but not punished.

The problem is thorny, but let's join hands to secure that our teenagers can grow up in a healthy society.
