My life in a cubicle

Thanks God!  I will leave this hell next month!  I have lived in this "cell" for three years already.  At last I can break away from this horrid hole to live in a public housing estate!  I feel very happy.

My family moved into this cubicle when I was eight years old.  We live in a 700 sq ft. flat with 10 tenants, and share one bathroom and one kitchen with them.  I need to get up earlier than others because I do not want to line up for the bathroom every morning.

When I return home after school, I have to move away the pillows and bedding, so that I can finish my homework on the bed.  It is stuffy and has no windows.  We have to rely on the electric fans to keep cool because we do not have enough money to buy an air-conditioner.

"Oh! How come? Why are there so many cockroaches?"  My mother screamed nervously.

Many ‘special guests’ visit us every day.  I really hate them!  Moreover, the hygiene is absolutely poor.  It makes diseases spread quickly.

We only have one kichen.  Every family owns a barrel of LPG.  It increases the risk of fire.  Therefore, cubicle homes are unsafe.

Just a few days ago, we received a letter from the government.  It was the advice note for moving into a public housing estate!  It was the best gift from God!

I hope the government provides more housing for those who indeed need to improve their living environment.  Life in a cubicle, oh no!
