New Year Resolution

21 days have passed in 2017. I have sorted out two aspects that I have to work harder on.

First, I have to be a more independent person, no matter if it is studying or casual life. I often rely on others and seldom try to use my way to solve problems. In this new year, I have planned to learn to stop relying on others. Also, I have to start managing my work in a better way. I always stuff all of my work into a single day and it often turns out that I can’t finish them. So, I have to learn to do my work orderly so that I can finish them on time.

Moreover, I have to stop being impulsive. Impulsiveness is very dangerous. For example, if someone is impulsive on his spending, he might buy something very expensive but totally unnecessary for him. If he is impulsive on talking, he might offend people very easily. If he is impulsive in his action, then he can get himself into big trouble, or even harm himself.

I can tell that because I had a real experience of getting hurt because of impulsiveness. Last year, my family and I went to Thailand. We thought that we would have a great trip. However, when we were riding quad-bikes, I had a crash because of some silly thoughts and the lack of second-thoughts and it left some large scars on my legs. Those scars are still here and are great reminders of the consequences of being impulsive. So I have to learn to think twice before I do something, the impacts, the results, etc.. And those scars have borne the duty of reminding me of that.

So this is my new year resolution: be independent , and “think before I do”. I hope that I can succeed on my resolution and will not give up. And let’s see the result at the end of the year……
