Would you love the narrator in Seven Daffodils? Why?

This song Seven Daffodils describes a poor man.  He cannot give his lover money, a mansion, anything that is expensive.  He can just give his lover a morning on a thousand hills, a kiss, seven daffodils and so on.
The song is romantic.  If the man is a very good honest man, I would fall in love with him.  I do not mind being a romantic but poor man’s girlfriend because he is not the worse man in the world.  He is just poor, not bad.
If he is a hateful guy that smokes or drinks, I would certainly not love him.  I hate these bad habits very much.  I wouldn’t reject him unkindly.  I would tell him that in the world, everything like rent, food, and electricity cannot be acquired without money, and it is not sensible to waste money on cigarettes or alcohol.
