On a hot and sunny day, Matthew went to the sea and had a swim.  He was bored and had nothing to do after swimming.  So he tried to think of something to do.
Suddenly the playful boy thought of an exciting trick to play on the lifeguard.  He threw his volleyball into the sea.
“Help!” he shouted, “someone is drowning over there. Come on!”  He pointed at his volleyball.
When the lifeguard heard it, he went down quickly and jumped into the water. He swam as fast as he could.  However, he found nothing.  He felt sad.
“Is that I’m too slow?” He asked himself.
However, someone was laughing from the beach.  It was Matthew.
“You silly guy, it is so easy to trick you!”  He laughed loudly.
The lifeguard was angry but said nothing.
“This boy is a liar,” he thought, “just like ‘Peter’ in the story, The Shepherd Boy and the Wolf.”  He murmured, “one day he will cause a big problem!”  He ran away.
The next day, Matthew went to the beach again.  He wanted to have the trick again.  So he threw his ball into the sea and shouted, “Help! Someone is drowning over there!”
The lifeguard left him alone.  “A liar lies again!”  He thought, “disgusting!”
The boy knew that it wouldn’t be successful.  He swam towards the ball and took it back.  As he took the ball, he felt something snatch the ball.  What was it? He dived.  He saw a boy drowning!  He grabbed him immediately and brought him back to the beach.  Everyone was shocked.  How come there was a boy drowning? Matthew did not lie!  People around gave the boy first aid quickly and brought him to hospital.  Matthew became a hero!  Everyone knew him after that.
Then, the Government awarded Matthew for his bravery.  On the contrary, the ‘irresponsible’ lifeguard was fired.
The moral is: keep your trust, no matter how many times you have been lied to.
