Self-introduction

Hello, I’m Jerry Szeto. Most of my friends call me ‘Jelly’ because it sounds like ‘Jerry’. Also, some say my face is as bouncy as jelly. I would like to introduce myself.

I’d like to talk about my appearance first. Actually, I’m quite fat, especially my belly, but some people, mostly my classmates, say that I’m not fat. Some of them even say that I’m very fit! Some people say that I have fairer skin than they and I’m very cute. My appearance is quite deceptive too. Some strangers call me ‘little girl’ while some relatives that I haven’t met for a long time still think that I’m in Primary Four!

I think introducing my personality is very important. I’m in an upbeat mood for most of the day, but I get angry easily and every time I break into tears. Although I see myself like this, not every person thinks the same. For example, my father thinks I’m bubbly and calls me ‘happy boy’ (his English is not very good, so he only uses simple English) but my sister thinks I’m quite annoying. I think it is only because everyone is special and has different points of view.

What I like must be introduced. I don’t have much spare time so I don’t have particular hobbies. I’ll just play some games to entertain myself, as I’m quite easy-going. Although I don’t have hobbies, I have interests. I like making models and want to try cooking because I like following rules and steps but also like creating new things. This is also why I like science. I like table tennis too because I’m a bit lazy and playing table tennis doesn’t require me to move much. I like the colour blue for no reason. Almost everything I have is blue!

My dreams are related to my interests. I would like to be a scientist in the future because I like science, and I would like to join the robotics team in Carmel so I could make models most of the time. For my goals in Carmel, I think being the first in class is in the first place. I can’t list all the goals because there are too many! What I want to achieve in Carmel is to have a bunch of friends, so I won’t be lonely, as my old friends are in different secondary schools.

I hope I will have a good time in Carmel, and let teachers know more about me by this passage.
