' The champion is No.7 Ho Wan See', the judge announced in a singing contest held in 1997. This championship gave her a contract but not a chance to publish her CD. At that time, she was not famous at all and had no jobs to do. In that situation, it is really hard to stay there and continue to fight for her goal. I do believe that everyone has their own goal and it is definitely hard to achieve it. Can we be a success if we give up easily when we face difficulties? A singer can wait and work hard for around four to five years for her goal, why cant we, students, work harder and not easily give up in our daily life?
When she was on the right track to becoming a pop star finally, everybody thought that she could be the top singer easily since she sang well and had a good master, Anita Mui. Different from what most expected, her master died because of cancer. It was a blow to her since Anita Mui is the most important person in her life. To overcome this, she promised herself that she would be a good person and do something that her master hoped she could do. Nowadays, many teenagers say that they can’t do this or that since they are under great pressure. If they are under great pressure, they will do something they are unwilling to do, which means they can’t control themselves. Is that real pressure? I can’t understand at all why they can think in this way.
Besides singing, Ho Wan See also set up a Charity Fund for her fans to do charity work together. She can make good use of her appeal to group the people together to help the needy people. This can let me know that in Hong Kong, there are really lots of poor people who need us very much. People shouldn’t just care about themselves but others as well, even the ones who they don’t know.
Lastly, as a pop star, Ho Wan See has a lot of bad news, but she doesn’t care about it. She told us that she would only do her best to achieve her goal and do whatever she wants to do. She is not working for anybody but herself. Thus, she won’t care about the bad news. It’s hard for us to do whatever we want to do and not care about others’ feelings. But this is the basic thing that we need to know.
Having become her fan for around three years, I’ve gained a lot. I know that nothing can be perfect in the beginning, we gotta make it. We can’t give up easily since we were born to learn how to solve the problems, how to overcome the difficulties but not evade them. I am now doing my best to achieve my goal and no one can stop me and I will never give up.
