The dangers of gambling

You want to be a millionaire; I want to be a billionaire too. No one wants to be poor but want to be poor but rich to achieve all his wishes. Some people work hard to earn lots of money in hope of making their dreams come true. Nevertheless, some other people are lazy and want to get things by luck. They think gambling is the best way. But don’t you think that they are very silly?

Gambling is like taking drugs. Once you have started it, you cannot stop it since you are addicted to it. You do not care whether you are winning or losing. The thing that you care is only gambling and you cannot survive without it. Now, it is gambling that controls you but not the other way round.

In addition, no one can assure that you will be the winner of the games because it is a matter of luck whether you can win the games or not. Even if you lose a few games, you will not give up because you may think that you can get back what you have lost previously. Games after games, no one knows whether you will lose even more or win back. Luck is what you need to rely on in gambling. But is it reliable?

Is it worthwhile to sacrifice everything for gambling? Not only will you lose money, but also it may lead to a broken family. Since you are completely obsessed with it, you will not give up even though you have spent all you have on it. Finally you have to bear heavy gambling debts and get nothing to pay for the rent, the bills and the school fees of your children. Arguments between family members will then be triggered and your relationship with family members will become worse. Isn’t this reason strong enough to stop you from gambling?

Farmers cannot reap without sowing. Nobody can earn anything without working. There is no free lunch in the world. If you want to do whatever you want in the future and have an enjoyable life, you must study hard and work hard because gambling cannot provide you a stable income. It takes a long time to sow, but this is well worth the effort.
