Secondhand Lions, the film directed by Tim McCanlies, is a great film. The main characters are Walter, Hub and Garth, who were acted by Haley Joel Osment, Robert Duvall and Michael Caine respectively.
The story is about a shy, young boy sent by his irresponsible mother to spend the summer with his wealthy but eccentric uncles, Hub and Garth, in Texas. Later, Walter finds out his great-uncles’ big secret. How will he face this situation? Although Walter’s life is very hard, he insists showing his love and concern to the people around him instead of giving up. How will his life change when he lives with his crazy uncles?
Secondhand Lions is an excellent film. It received PFCS Award as the Best Live Action Family Film. The characters are also realistic. The love between the two generations is so genuine. I think it is an outstanding film. It brings out the message of the importance of being peaceful and positive to the audience. Never think that you are useless. Maybe some miracles will happen to you. Also, don’t try to look down upon other people. Everyone must have at least one skill and their own potential.
I strongly recommend this movie to all of you. No matter you are still young or already an old man, I think this film will be a suitable film for you. Don’t miss this chance to have fun with your family!
