What a Job!

When I woke up that morning, I knew something was going to happen.  Suddenly I heard some loud bangs.  (Every time I heard a loud bang, I had bad luck the whole day, like being punished by my parents.)  That was my maid – she was so annoying.
“Wake up now!  Wake up now!  It’s already half past seven.  It’s your first day of school.  You must go to school before eight o’clock!” she yelled.
When I arrived at my school, I was a bit scared.  “Stay calm!  You will do a good job!” I consoled myself.  The first thing I could do was to find the principal.
“You go to the toilets and clean them carefully!  Go quickly!” She told me.  I was so upset and down. “If you do not do it well, I’ll fire you!”  She warned me.
While I was cleaning the toilets, I kept thinking, “Why must I do these jobs as well?  Are these part of my training?”  When the students saw me, they didn’t bow to me, and they even laughed at me.  I was extremely angry.
At 5 p.m., I finished my work.  I was relieved.  While I was packing my things to leave the school, the principal called me.  She dug in her pocket for 500 dollars, and gave it to me.  At that moment, I was so amazed!
“Here’s your pay.  We have employed a full-time janitor finally and so we don’t need you any more,” said the principal.
“But I’m a student teacher,” I explained.  After all, something did happen.
The principal was embarrassed and apologized to me.  From that time, I thought that being a janitor was very good – you could earn a lot of money.
