Message from the Principal<\/p>\n
The theme of this issue, Building Connectedness, is one target of our 2015-18 School Development Plan.\u00a0 We are fully aware that the school is not only a place of academic learning, but \u00a0also one \u00a0of socialization for young people.\u00a0 Positive relationships, a sense of belonging, inclusion and active participation are crucial for a student\u2019s socio-emotional development.\u00a0 It is such positive day-to-day interactions and participation that build respect, trust, empathy, autonomy, responsibility and self-efficacy.\u00a0 Ultimately, as documented in extensive research, connectedness promotes positive mental health and wellbeing, and improves educational outcomes.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A question that pops up must be: How effective is it in Carmel?\u00a0 The articles in this issue tell the answer.\u00a0 Other than that, the annual survey Assessment Program for Affective and Social Outcomes (APASO)<\/em> conducted this January revealed consistently positive responses from students, particularly in teacher-student relationships and peer relationships.\u00a0 The vibrancy of the campus during recesses, lunchtime and after school hours, when students actively engage in extracurricular activities is also solid evidence. \u00a0Carmel underwent External School Review in mid-October 2016 and the reviewers commended on our work and appreciated that we are heading towards a right direction.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Our vision is that every Carmel student feels connected and empowered to make informed decisions.\u00a0 They \u00a0are not withdrawn into themselves but reach out to their parents and family, to the school community, to God, to our neighbourhood and to the wider world around.<\/p>\n \u5efa\u7acb\u806f\u7e6b\u611f\u662f\u4eca\u671f\u7684\u4e3b\u984c\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f2015-18\u5e74\u5b78\u6821\u767c\u5c55\u8a08\u5283\u7684\u76ee\u6a19\u4e4b\u4e00\u3002\u6211\u5011\u5f88\u6e05\u695a\u77e5\u9053\uff0c\u5b78\u6821\u9664\u4e86\u662f\u4e0a\u8ab2\u7684\u5730\u65b9\uff0c\u4e5f\u662f\u5b78\u7fd2\u8207\u4eba\u76f8\u8655\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u3002\u6b63\u9762\u7684\u4eba\u969b\u95dc\u4fc2\u3001\u6b78\u5c6c\u611f\u3001\u63a5\u7d0d\u5305\u5bb9\u548c\u7a4d\u6975\u53c3\u8207\u5c0d\u5b78\u751f\u7684\u793e\u4ea4\u53ca\u60c5\u610f\u767c\u5c55\u81f3\u70ba\u91cd\u8981\u3002\u900f\u904e\u65e5\u5e38\u63a5\u89f8\u548c\u6d3b\u52d5\uff0c\u5b78\u751f\u5b78\u6703\u5f7c\u6b64\u5c0a\u91cd\u3001\u4e92\u76f8\u4fe1\u4efb\u3001\u5efa\u7acb\u540c\u7406\u5fc3\u3001\u81ea\u4e3b\u80fd\u529b\u3001\u8cac\u4efb\u611f\u548c\u81ea\u6211\u6548\u80fd\u611f\u3002\u6b63\u5982\u4e0d\u5c11\u7814\u7a76\u767c\u73fe\uff0c\u806f\u7e6b\u611f\u5c0d\u7cbe\u795e\u5065\u5eb7\u548c\u5b78\u7fd2\uff0c\u90fd\u6709\u6b63\u9762\u7684\u5e6b\u52a9\u3002<\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u4f60\u5fc5\u7136\u6703\u554f\uff0c\u9019\u500b\u76ee\u6a19\u5728\u8fe6\u5bc6\u6709\u591a\u5c11\u6210\u6548\uff1f\u4eca\u671f\u7684\u5167\u5bb9\u5c31\u662f\u7b54\u6848\u3002\u9664\u6b64\u4e4b\u5916\uff0c\u5b78\u6821\u6bcf\u5e74\u5747\u900f\u904e\u60c5\u610f\u53ca\u793e\u4ea4\u8868\u73fe\u8a55\u4f30(APASO)\uff0c\u4e86\u89e3\u540c\u5b78\u7684\u770b\u6cd5\u3002\u6839\u64da\u4eca\u5e74\u4e00\u6708\u6536\u96c6\u7684\u6578\u64da\uff0c\u5b78\u751f\u5c0d\u5e2b\u751f\u95dc\u4fc2\u548c\u540c\u5115\u95dc\u4fc2\u90fd\u6709\u6975\u9ad8\u7684\u8a55\u50f9\u3002\u5b78\u751f\u5e38\u5728\u5c0f\u606f\u3001\u5348\u98ef\u6642\u9593\u3001\u653e\u5b78\u5f8c\u53c3\u8207\u8ab2\u5916\u6d3b\u52d5\uff0c\u6216\u8207\u77e5\u5df1\u53cb\u597d\u73a9\u6a02\u8ac7\u7b11\uff0c\u6821\u5712\u5145\u6eff\u751f\u6c23\uff0c\u9019\u8db3\u4ee5\u8b49\u660e\u6b64\u76ee\u6a19\u5df2\u898b\u6210\u6548\u3002\u8fe6\u5bc6\u65bc\u53bb\u5e7410\u6708\u4e2d\u63a5\u53d7\u6821\u5916\u8a55\u6838\uff0c\u5916\u8a55\u968a\u5c0d\u6211\u5011\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u8868\u793a\u6b23\u8cde\uff0c\u4e5f\u8a8d\u540c\u5b78\u6821\u7684\u767c\u5c55\u65b9\u5411\u3002<\/p>\n \u6211\u5011\u7684\u9858\u666f\uff0c\u662f\u6bcf\u500b\u8fe6\u5bc6\u5b78\u751f\u90fd\u4e0d\u611f\u5230\u5b64\u55ae\u3001\u80fd\u5920\u653e\u81bd\u4f5c\u51fa\u77e5\u60c5\u6c7a\u5b9a\uff1b\u4ed6\u5011\u4e0d\u6703\u628a\u81ea\u5df1\u9396\u5728\u5c01\u9589\u7684\u81ea\u6211\u4e16\u754c\uff0c\u800c\u6703\u4e3b\u52d5\u8207\u7236\u6bcd\u5bb6\u4eba\u3001\u5b78\u6821\u7fa4\u9ad4\u3001\u6211\u5011\u76f8\u4fe1\u7684\u795e\u3001\u793e\u5340\u548c\u793e\u5340\u4ee5\u5916\u7684\u5929\u5730\u5efa\u7acb\u806f\u7e6b\u3002<\/p>\n
