Our school Robotics Team participated in the World Robot Olympiad 2015 (WRO) on 12 and 26 September 2015 and triumphed in the competition. In the Junior Regular Category, two teams from our S3 and S1 students won both the Championship and the Second-Runner-Up. Again, in the Senior Regular Category, our alumni and S5 students won both the Championship and the First-Runner-Up and in the University Regular Category, another alumni team won the Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The Champions and the First-Runner-Up, altogether four teams, are qualified to enroll in the 12th<\/sup> Annual World Robot Olympiad in Doha, Qatar between 6 and 8 November 2015.<\/p>\n

World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is the largest scale robotics competition in Hong Kong.\u00a0 \u00a0The theme this year is \u2018Robot Explorers\u2019. The game provides a natural learning platform for our students to apply their knowledge in cross curriculum subjects including science, math and computer programming. Filled with passion and determination, our students grab every learning opportunity to advance their robot\u2019s performance. Through building robots and accomplishing the tasks, our students can build problem-solving skills and develop innovation and creativity.<\/p>\n

They are clear examples of the school\u2019s major concern this year: Gear Up and Go the Extra Mile.<\/p>\n

Robotics is a wonderful platform to learn 21st<\/sup>-century skills. Since robotics inherently crosses multiple curriculum subjects, solving robotic challenges sparks innovation and creativity, and further develops problem solving ability in students.<\/p>\n

WRO has established this learning platform for 11 years now and it is still growing. Our first robotics competition was in 2004 when only 12 countries and 4000 teams were involved. Fast forward to 2014, there was an estimate of over 50 countries and over 20,000 teams from around the globe taking part in WRO activities and competitions on local, regional and national levels.<\/p>\n

I would like to extend my most sincere gratitude to the volunteers, organizers and participants for making WRO such a huge success.<\/p>\n
