Cancellation of 2022/23 S.1 Discretionary Places Interview (Updated on 2nd March 2022)

In view of the worsening situation of COVID-19 epidemic and the territory-wide mandatory COVID-19 testing to be rolled out in March, the S.1 Discretionary Places Interview, which was originally scheduled for March 19, 2022 will be CANCELLED.  All applicants are only required to submit a video portfolio for assessment.

Video portfolio submission

All applicants are required to submit a video portfolio by 5:00 p.m., 15th March.  Instructions about the video portfolio will be sent by post to all applicants on 4th March.  An email will also be sent to the email address provided on the application form to all applicants’ parents/guardians on 4th March. Please email our staff at info@carmelss.edu.hk should parents/guardians not receive any email by 2:00 p.m., 4th March.

Revised Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed in accordance with the revised selection criteria approved by the Incorporated Management Committee as follows:

Conduct 30%
Video Clips submitted 30%

Bonus points of not more than 10% of the total marks may be awarded to applicants with outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities.

Supporting documents may only be submitted to the General Office in person (Mon – Fri 9:00 -12:30, 2:00-5:00; Sat 9:00-12:30) or by post to Carmel Secondary School (55 Chung Hau Street, Kowloon) on or before 15th March (based on the post chop date).  Please ensure sufficient postage to avoid delivery problems. The supporting documents include:

(i)         Photocopies of records of extra-curricular activities or achievements;

(ii)        Any other pertinent information applicants might like the School to be informed about.

Name of applicant and application reference number (2022-23-S1-XXX) must be stated clearly on the information submitted.

取消中一自行分配學位申請面試 (2022.3.2 更新)

敬啟者:鑑於近日 2019 冠狀病毒病疫情十分嚴峻,全港巿民亦須於三月份參與強制核酸檢測,本校決定取消原定於本年度3月19日舉行之「中一自行分配學位申請面試」。所有申請人須要呈交兩段錄像短片供校方評核。

申請人須在3月15日下午5時或以前提交其錄像短片以取代面試。 本校將於3月4日寄出通知函予申請人,並會在3月4日透過申請表上提供的電郵向申請人發放相關短片製作及呈交指示。若家長/監護人於34日下午2時後仍未接獲電郵請電郵info@carmelss.edu.hk 與本校職員聯絡。

 

修訂評分標準

本校將按以下經法團校董會批准之修訂準則錄取本年度之申請者:

申請者在課外活動有出色表現或會獲得不多於總分數百份之十的額外分數。

如欲提交相關文件,請於315(根據郵戮日期)或以前遞交到本校校務處(辦公時間為星期一至五上午9時-下午12時30分及下午2時-5時,星期六為上午9時-下午12時30分)或郵寄到迦密中學(九龍何文田忠孝街55號), 為免延誤,請確保郵資充足。文件可包括:

  • 課外活動紀錄、證書或獎狀影印本
  • 其他供學校參閱的有關資料

呈交文件必須註明申請人姓名及申請編號 (2022-23-S1-XXX)。
