{"id":851,"date":"2011-09-14T14:52:42","date_gmt":"2011-09-14T14:52:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/web02.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters2\/archives\/851"},"modified":"2015-05-24T07:04:52","modified_gmt":"2015-05-24T07:04:52","slug":"cant-bear-all-the-stare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.carmelss.edu.hk\/buddingwriters\/archives\/851","title":{"rendered":"Can\u2019t Bear All the Stare"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Oh, what a day!&nbsp; I totally regret swapping my role with my English teacher Ms. Ng.&nbsp; It&rsquo;s not fun at all.&nbsp; Finally, I know what it feels like being a teacher<br \/>Since the bell of the lesson rang, everybody started to call me Ms. Tang, so awkward.&nbsp; I prefer them to call me by my name.&nbsp; Sometimes, I just don&rsquo;t understand why Ms. Ng dislikes us calling her &ldquo;Maria&rdquo;.<br \/>I did a little preparation.&nbsp; I planned to teach my favourite English idioms and played a few riddles.&nbsp; I thought I could handle them, but it turned out only a few of my classmates knew what I was talking about.&nbsp; Maybe I made my old mistakes again &ndash; speaking too fast.&nbsp; I kept rushing things through when I was so nervous.<br \/>Sometimes, the gangsters of my class kept picking on my mistakes and talking back.&nbsp; I felt helpless standing out in front, unable to respond.&nbsp; I hoped I could zip those boys&rsquo; mouths shut so that they just sat there and listened to me<br \/>Speaking too fast, no one understands; okay, I can slow down a bit.&nbsp; Those gangsters, fine, I can pretend they don&rsquo;t even exist.&nbsp; But those eighty eyes were staring at me.&nbsp; Every movement or word of mine, they were watching and I am a person who cares about my looks much.&nbsp; If I use chalk, and the powder lands on my face and clothes, I can&rsquo;t help but want to find a mirror to clean up.&nbsp; Those classmates will think I&rsquo;m a freak if I do that.<br \/>I learnt and experienced a lot today.&nbsp; Being a teacher surely is a tough job, so that&rsquo;s why I will never ever be a teacher when I grow up.&nbsp; Teachers are like those super-natural humans in comic books.&nbsp; They have super power to silence the noisy students, super patience to teach, and super speed to finish loads of paper marking.&nbsp; And most importantly, they can bear the staring of students and the chalk.&nbsp; The chalk is a weapon against me.&nbsp; I hate my hand coated in chalk powder and when it spreads all over and makes me sneeze.&nbsp; I don&rsquo;t have all this power.&nbsp; Maybe that&rsquo;s why I will never be a teacher<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Oh, what a day!
