Helping You and Me<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nboy patted on my shoulder. I looked up and saw a cartoon patterned band-aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cMum told me to give it to you and thank you\nfor helping her this morning,\u201d the boy said thankfully with his big smile. He\nthen ran back to a woman, raising his head, smiling proudly \u201cMum, I’ve done it.\nI\u2019ve helped that sister.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n The\nwoman put her hand on the little boy\u2019s head and praised him with her gentle\nvoice. She turned to me and smiled. I remembered her. She was the poor woman\nscolded by the man in the morning\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\nwas a busy Monday morning with little droplets falling down from the grey sky.\nThe road was fully filled with hustle and bustle. I put on my earphones to shut\nthe noise out of my ears. I queued up quietly and waited for the bus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n All\nof a sudden, a loud roar was shouted by a man fiercely. The thunderous voice was\na great shock to people around. I looked up and saw a poor woman standing in front\nof the strong built man surrounded by the crowd. Her eyes were red and she looked\nso helpless. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou\u2019ve\nstolen my wallet. It\u2019s no use denying it,\u201d the man shouted at the top of his\nvoice. Everyone seemed to believe in him. They surrounded the woman in order\nnot to let her escape. The more the woman shook her head, the more fiercely the\npeople scolded at her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\nchecked my watch, thinking that if it should be the time to go. Then the man\nshouted at her again. I could stand\nseeing a weak woman threatened by the roaring giant. I took down my earphones\nand stood in front of the woman. I asked, \u201cExcuse me, sir. Why are you so sure\nthat this lady has stolen your wallet?\u201d \u201cI saw that.\u201d he replied to me in great\nconfidence. \u201cSo that wallet over there isn’t yours, right?\u201d I pointed at the\nrubbish bin behind him. There was an orange wallet beside it. The man was\nshocked. The place suddenly became quiet. Everyone went away and pretended that\nnothing had just happened. The man apologized to the woman in embarrassment and\nleft in haste. <\/p>\n\n\n\n While\nI was turning my body and wanted to talk to the woman, the bus arrived. I\nrushed onto the bus in a hurry because I didn’t want to be late for school. On\nthe bus, I saw the woman look at me. Her eyes were full of gratefulness. I\nthought it would be the last time I saw her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It\nwas still raining when I went home. It was really a tough day for me that I had\njust received a few of my failed exam papers. As I walked in the rain, I\ntripped over a tiny rock. All the paper fell off from my hands and got wet. I\nsat on the slippery floor, looking at the exam papers filled with red marks.\nSuddenly, a boy came and gave me a band-aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\nnever thought that I would meet that woman again. She smiled at me with a\nthankful heart. I turned over the band-aid and find \u201cAdd oil\u201d behind it. I smiled\nin gratefulness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n People\nalways say that helping people brings blessings to both who offer a hand and\nwho are helped. This time, I’ve helped a woman.
